Guide to the Newcastle 500

The Newcastle 500 will roar into Newcastle this weekend. Here is your guide for all the action occuring off the track.

Grand Finale Breakfast

Mingle with Supercars drivers and enjoy a cocktail- style breakfast. On today (Thursday 21 November) from 7am to 9am. Tickets are $80 per person. All funds raised will go to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.

Super Signing Session

Want the chance to meet your favourite drivers and have them sign a poster? Head to Civic Park today (Thursday 21 November) from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.

Pit Lane Walks

Experience the racing epicentre at its best when you experience a pit lane walk. Get a behind-the- scenes look and witness teams and drivers preparing for the gruelling 500-kilometre race. There are three sessions a day, tickets are selling quickly, visit the Supercars website to purchase.

Drivers Parade

On Saturday from 12.15pm. Make sure you are trackside to see a parade of Newcastle 500 Supercars drivers.

Australian Army Band Newcastle

Put your dancing shoes on and join Newcastle’s Roving Band for a boogie. They’ll be there on Saturday and Sunday roving through the precinct to rev up the crowds.

Australian Defence Force On Display

On Saturday and Sunday, watch the Royal Australian Air Force F/A-18A/B Classic Hornet, based at RAAF Base Williamtown, perform an adrenaline-pumping aerial display at around 4pm. The Hornet will reach speeds of more than 1,000 kilometres per hour. The Air Force pilots will take to the sky matching the high-tech, high-skill and high-speed passion of the Supercars drivers.

WesTrac Hub

Visit the WesTrac Hub to check out the new Cat 950 GC Wheel Loader and Cat 330 GC Excavator Up close. Get a great view of all the racing action and shoot some hoops for your chance to win a prize. The WestTrac Hub will be located on Nobby’s road near Fort Scratchley.

Shell V-Power VR Pit Stop Experience

This Virtual Reality (VR) experience gives fans the chance to experience the thrill of a Supercars Pit Stop. Test your skills and see if you can handle the pressure, speed and precision required. This activity will run in the merchandise area. It is open from 10am to 4pm each day.
