The NSW Government has eased COVID-19 related restrictions slightly with the number of people who can attend outdoor gatherings, weddings and restaurant group bookings set to increase.

From Friday 23 October up to 30 people will be allowed to gather outdoors in public spaces and 30 customers will be able to make a booking and be seated at the one table at hospitality venues.

More restrictions are also set to ease in December.

From Tuesday 1 December, the number of people who can attend weddings will increase to 300 people. This will be subject to the 4 square metre rule indoors and 2 square metre rule outdoors.

Businesses must use electronic methods, including QR codes, to keep a record of guests contact details.

While restrictions are being eased the community has been reminded to continue to follow the COVID-19 recommendations in place.

This includes maintaining physical distancing and wearing a mask indoors when you cannot physically distance.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian said the NSW Government remains focused on managing COVID-19 and opening the economy in a COVID Safe way.

“These changes will provide a big boost to our hospitality venues,” Ms Berejiklian said.

“As we ease restrictions and find new ways to get businesses moving it is vital that customers and venues continue to be COVID Safe.”
