The region’s biggest school spectacular, Star Struck 2024, wowed audiences again at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre.
Quite simply, they Loved It, with thousands of talented youngsters taking to the stage for the latest edition.
And, the Newcastle Weekly photographer Peter Stoop was on hand to snap some of the action.
Star Struck provides performance and learning opportunities for pupils in the arts… and fosters an appreciation of the performing arts.
The program brings together students from very small primary educational establishments to large comprehensive high schools from diverse backgrounds.
“All up, 3,500 pupils participated, across our mass dance and drama items, mass choir and featured artists,” operations manager Casey Smith said.
“It is always a huge logistical challenge to put it together and get it into show week, especially with about 130 schools involved.
“But, we did it.”
