A terrific individual performance by Tegan Glover inspired Central Newcastle to a comprehensive 30-0 victory over Cessnock in the Newcastle Hunter RL A grade Monarch Blues League Tag clash.

The flying centre bagged four of the team’s six tries in the rout at Baddeley Park on Saturday.

Glover, who opened and finished the scoring, gained strong support from Aylee Brain and Kate Davies, who also touched down.

Blanche Morrisey landed two conversions while Miquita Clarke booted home a third.

The win secured Central Newcastle’s position on the ladder – and keeps the side in touch of the leaders.

Meanwhile, competition frontrunners Aberglasslyn overpowered second-placed Maitland Pickers 20-8.

Rhianni Cipta bagged a double, with Teegan Barr and Caitlin Shoulders crossing the tryline, too.

Ashlee Harvey was successful with two shots at goal.

For the Pickers, Estelle Hughes and Amy Dufour managed to find their way to the line.

In the other fixtures, Stroud pipped Raymond Terrace 16-14 and Newc University held a gutsy Kotara at bay 14-6.

Aberglasslyn heads the table on 25 points, three ahead of the Pickers (22) and Newc University (22), who’ll meet this weekend.

Central Newcastle (19) rounds out the top four, with Cessnock (14), Kotara (8), Stroud (8) and Raymond Terrace (2) in arrears.
