Fire crews have managed to contain a blaze at a house in Gillieston Heights despite it threatening to spread to neighbouring properties.
Just before 5pm yesterday, police, paramedics and Fire and Rescue NSW crews from Kurri, Rutherford, Maitland, Abermain and Morpeth, along with Lochinvar Rural Fire Service attended the property on Holland Circuit.
The house was fully engulfed in flames, and crews worked quickly to extinguish the blaze, while undergoing property protection for houses next door.
The residents managed to evacuate with no injuries, while one neighbour was treated for smoke inhalation.
Fire crews worked on the scene until just after 8pm.
