Finalists in Newcastle Garden Awards bloomin’ good

An impressive array of finalists has been announced in the inaugural Newcastle Garden Awards.

The event, presented by Tradie Network, attracted entries from Elermore Vale, Whitebridge, Mount Hutton, Hamilton, Merewether, Mayfield and many more suburbs in the area.

The participants are vying for victory in four categories: large garden, small garden, small spaces and People’s Choice.

“We’ve been overwhelmed with the positive response to the launch of the awards,” founder Michael Edwards said.

“The entries in this inaugural year have set an extremely high standard for future editions.

“The recurring theme we’ve heard from entrants is that their gardens are their happy place.

“So, it’s been a joy to be able to showcase them.

“I’d like to thank everyone who took the time to participate in the competition.”

The finalists, in no order, as selected by judges Judy Sharpe and Brian Bird are:

“The People’s Choice award will be decided through the power of social media,” Mr Edwards said.

“The four finalists’ albums are posted to the Newcastle Garden Awards Facebook and Instagram pages.

“The finalist with the most comments received by 5pm on Wednesday 24 November will be declared the winner.

“Winners of the Newcastle Garden Awards will be announced on Thursday 25 November.

“We are also extremely excited to have Tradie Network join us as a supporting partner.

“Each of the winners will receive a prize pack from them.”
