Festive spirit returns to Morpeth

SHARE

One of the most popular events on the festive calendar, Christmas at the Common, returns to Morpeth this month for an evening of fun and frivolity.

Tickets to the Friday 18 December extravaganza are $5 each person.

Included in the price is popcorn, a sausage sizzle and music entertainment from 6pm, with two Christmas classic movies, Elf and The Santa Clause, starting about 8pm.

To delight the children, Santa will put his travel plans on hold to make an appearance on the night.

There’ll also be bright lights and decorations around the Common.

Bring your picnic rug, chairs and snacks, then choose from two dedicated movie screening areas to get you into the holiday spirit.

“We’re so excited to be bringing back Christmas at the Common again this year as an opportunity for the community to come together to celebrate the festive season,” Maitland City Council’s senior place activation officer Portia Wendt said.

“The night will be the first of a range of outdoor cinemas around Maitland across summer that will also see the return of the Dive in Cinema at East Maitland Aquatic Centre.”

Tickets for Christmas at the Common will be available online from noon on Friday 4 December.

A comprehensive COVID-19 Safety Plan is in place for this event.

Council will continue to monitor and adhere to the advice from the federal and state governments, including any variation or modification of the public health orders.

Morpeth Common is located at 33 Edward Street in Morpeth.
