A man is in a stable condition after being trapped in his vehicle following an accident south of Cessnock last night.
About 9pm on Wednesday 17 February, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service was tasked by NSW Ambulance on a primary mission to Ellalong Road, Ellalong.
On arrival, the crew discovered a 21-year-old male, who had sustained multiple limb fractures and head injuries.
After being stuck in the vehicle for some time, he was eventually released by emergency services and treated on scene by paramedics and the chopper’s Critical Care Medical Team.
The patient was then flown to John Hunter Hospital.
