District records one new case

The number of COVID-19 cases in the Hunter New England District has increased to 270 following the addition of one new case.

This is the latest update provided by NSW Health at 8pm on Saturday 11 April.

Hunter New England Health is contacting close contacts of the new case, who are being asked to self-isolate for 14 days from last contact.

Currently, nine COVID-19 patients are being cared for in Hunter New England hospitals, including three in ICU, and 19 are receiving Hospital in the Home support.

Across the District, an additional two patients have recovered in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of cases recovered to 173 so far.

The Hunter Region has about 190 confirmed cases. This includes 53 in Newcastle, 49 in Lake Macquarie, 33 in Port Stephens, 32 in Maitland, and 24 in Cessnock.
