Diamonds to light up Newcastle Entertainment Centre

SHARE

We’ve hosted the Matildas and Wallabies in recent times, now the Diamonds are set to shine in Newcastle.

Venues have been locked in for the Australian women’s netball team’s upcoming international fixtures against England, with the Entertainment Centre lighting up for a historic battle on Wednesday 26 October.

The Diamonds will first travel across the ditch to visit their Trans-Tasman neighbour New Zealand with the initial two matches of the Constellation Cup scheduled in Auckland and Tauranga.

The squad then returns to Australia where they’ll play the Silver Ferns at Melbourne’s John Cain Arena before heading to the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre for the final showdown of the tournament.

Following a few days’ rest, the Diamonds will begin the three-match England Series against the Roses at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre with the last two encounters at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena and the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.

“After almost three years on the road, we are incredibly excited to play in front of our Australian supporters when we face two of our biggest rivals in New Zealand and England this October-November,” head coach Stacey Marinkovich said.

“There is nothing more special for our group than playing in front of our Diamonds fans and having a home crowd advantage.

“The last time we participated in a competitive match in Australia was the Constellation Cup in 2019.

“So, we’re all really looking forward to it.”

Tickets are expected to go on sale this month.
