Daredevils primed for Hunter Valley Airshow

SHARE

Those behind this weekend’s Hunter Valley Airshow are promising full-throttle family entertainment at the Cessnock Airport.

The two-day program, on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 March, includes hair-raising aerobatics from local and international stunt pilots, historical warbirds, amusement rides, markets, beer and wine garden, delicious street food and so much more.

So, that means a heap of airborne action, featuring a Spitfire MK-IX, P40 Kittyhawk, Grumman Avenger, T28 Trojan, L-39 Albatross, CAC Wirraway, Yak-52 and organiser Paul Bennet’s own Wolf Pitts Pro.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to promote aviation to future generations,” he said.

“There’s nothing like seeing kids’ faces, especially when they realise planes aren’t just for commercial use.

“Can you remember that childhood excitement of witnessing famous stuntmen performing feats of what seemed impossible?

“The gasps from the audience as we all thought ‘how can they do this?’.

“Parents and kids alike still get a huge thrill from seeing those kinds of death-defying manoeuvres right in front of their very eyes.

“So, the Hunter Valley Airshow wants to relive that exhilaration.”

With performances from Paul Bennet Airshows and his formation team, The SkyAces, along with Scandinavian Airshow daredevils, the Skycats Wing Walkers, and more, you’ll be on the edge of your seat.

Attendees can also take to the sky in a helicopter or adventure flight, jump in the virtual cockpit of a fighter jet or just sit back and watch the non-stop airborne spectacular taking place overhead.
