The Waratah Male Voice Choir will farewell long-time musical director Annette Phylis at its next performance.
Phylis will retire in spectacular fashion by conducting a combined concert with Sydney Male Choir at The Baptist Tabernacle, Newcastle – a new venue to choir concerts – on Sunday 7 July at 2pm.
With Phylis retiring, the choir is seeking a new musical director.
Those interested in the role, or in joining the choir as a member, should email president Rob Wilkinson at [email protected] with their details.
The Waratah Male Voice Choir has a long-standing reputation in the community, having formed in 1956 and entertained at many community events, ANZAC commemorations, retirement villages and aged care services.
The choir recently returned from a combined concert with the Wollongong Lamplighters to a packed audience of 320 people.
