Changed traffic conditions on City Road at Highfields and Adamstown Heights

SHARE

As works continue on City Road (Pacific Highway) at Highfields and Adamstown Heights, Hunter motorists have been advised that traffic conditions will change.

Road widening work on the southbound lanes is now complete but intermittent lane closures and traffic control is likely to be in place on the southbound slow lane from 6.30am to 2.30pm over the next eight weeks to carry out minor finishing work.

The same will be in place on the northbound slow lane to widen the northbound side of City Road and make traffic signal adjustments.

It’s all part of the upgrades to the Kahibah Road and Northcott Drive intersections.

From Monday 28 February to Friday 29 April, out of hours work will also be carried out from 6pm to 7am from Monday to Friday and from 8am to 5pm Saturdays, weather permitting.

Most of the work will continue to be carried out from 7am to 6pm on weekdays and from 8am to 1pm on Saturdays, weather permitting.

A 40km/h speed limit will be in place at all times for the safety of workers and motorists. These traffic changes may affect travel times.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
