Changed traffic conditions at New Lambton Heights

SHARE

There’ll be changed overnight traffic conditions from next week on Lookout Road and Grandview Road at New Lambton Heights to carry out work associated with the Newcastle Inner City Bypass.

Transport for NSW awarded a contract to Quickway to relocate major utilities at the southern end of the Rankin Park to Jesmond project, which involves digging trenches across both Lookout Road and Grandview Road for new gas and communications utilities.

Work will be carried out from Monday 11 October over two weeks from 7pm to 5am on Monday to Wednesday nights and is expected to be completed by Wednesday 20 October, weather permitting.

Grandview Road is scheduled to be closed between Marshall Street and Lookout Road during night work on Monday 11, Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 October, weather permitting.

A detour will be in place via Cardiff Road and Marshall Street or McCaffrey Drive and Elbrook Drive, which will add up to five minutes to each journey.

Local access will be permitted to residents at the corner of Grandview Road and Marshall Street.

Lane closures may be in place on Lookout Road between McCaffrey Drive and Cardiff Road during night work with traffic operating under contra-flow, with traffic control and a 40km/h reduced speed limit in effect.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
