There will be changes to overnight traffic conditions on the Newcastle Inner City Bypass at Shortland from next week.
This will allow staff to make road surface repairs northbound between the University Drive and the Sandgate Road interchanges.
Crews from City of Newcastle will carry out the work from Monday 12 April, on behalf of Transport for NSW, to provide a stronger, longer lasting and safer road.
To reduce impacts to motorists, work will take place between 7pm and 5am from Sunday to Thursday, and is expected to be completed in 21 shifts, weather permitting.
A reduced 40km/h speed limit and lane closure will be in place during the work, which may cause short delays.
Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time, drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
Transport for NSW thanks everyone for their patience during this time.
