M1 Pacific Motorway extension to Raymond Terrace
There will be changes to southbound traffic lanes on the M1 Pacific Motorway at Black Hill, south of Lenaghans Drive, from the night of Tuesday 2 June to prepare for the motorway opening later this year.
A third lane will be introduced, with the left merging approximately 200m ahead.
Motorists should watch for construction vehicles entering from the right.
Southbound M1 Pacific Motorway traffic will be diverted onto the northbound carriageway of the M1 (contraflow arrangement) at the John Renshaw Drive/Weakleys Drive intersection on the nights of Wednesday 3 June and Thursday 4 June between 7pm and 5am while the team undertakes asphalt work.

During this time there will be no access to Lenaghans Drive from the southbound lanes of the M1.
Meanwhile construction continues along the Black Hill to Tomago and Heatherbrae Bypass project.
It’s slated from 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday; 8am to 5pm on Saturday; and from 7pm to 5am Monday to Friday nights.
The work also requires lane closures and contraflow with intermittent stoppages and temporary speed reductions to 40km/h at the following locations and times:
From 7pm to 5am, on the nights of Monday 1 June until Friday 5 June
- M1 Pacific Motorway at Beresfield and Black Hill
- John Renshaw Drive at Beresfield
- New England Highway at Tarro
- Pacific Highway at Tomago and Heatherbrae
From 8am to 5pm, Monday 1 June until Friday 5 June
- Lenaghans Drive at Black Hill
- Old Punt Road near Pacific Highway at Tomago
- New England Highway Eastbound at Tarro
Operators of OSOM vehicles with a ground contact wider than 3.2 metres or with overall width greater than 4.5 metres are advised to contact the project team on 0423 323 946 at least one day ahead of their proposed movement.
Significant delays can occur if they fail to do so.
Tarro Street in Pelaw Main
Maintenance is planned for Tarro Street in Pelaw Main on Wednesday 3 June.
Work, including asphalt patching, will be carried between Railway and Maitland streets from 7pm to 5am.
It’s expected to take one night to complete, weather permitting.
Changed conditions including traffic control, single lane closures, alternating stop/slow and a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h will be in place during work hours.
Operators of OSOM vehicles are advised to call ahead on UHF channel 21 to be escorted through the site.
M1 Pacific Motorway southbound at Somersby
Slope remediation is scheduled on the M1 Motorway, near the Mangrove Road overpass, between Somersby and Ourimbah.
To minimise any impact, it’ll take place from 8.30pm to 4am for up to five weeks, weather permitting.
The slow and middle lanes of the southbound carriageway will be closed for about two kilometres during work hours with traffic using the fast lane.
A reduced speed limit of 40 km/h is also operational for the safety of workers and motorists.
The work may cause delays of up to five minutes, so road-users are advised to allow extra travel time.
