The Newcastle Jets are on the lookout for a new A-League Women’s (ALW) coach following Ryan Campbell’s decision to step down.
He was initially appointed as the side’s interim mentor in 2024, following the sudden departure of Gary Van Egmond, and helped guide the club to the play-offs.
In the end, Newcastle narrowly missed out on a spot in the grand final.
But, Campbell won’t be lost to the organisation.
He’ll continue his role as technical director of the Jets’ Girls Academy, having achieved great success in developing several homegrown players into the A-League environment and the future Matildas Program.
Newcastle CEO Tain Drinkwater thanked Campbell for his contribution to the women’s team.
“Ryan has done a tremendous job in stepping up to the A-League environment as coach for the past season,” she said.
“He’s played a pivotal role in continuing to develop some of our local Academy players and helping with their transition to the first side.
“We thank him for his dedication and efforts in the ALW space and look forward to his enduring commitment to the Jets Academy nurturing our region’s future stars.
“The club will now move to appoint a new coach ahead of the 2025/26 A-League Women’s season.”
