Cameron Park car show raising funds for good cause

The Maddie Hill Charity Car & Motorcycle Show is set to be bigger and better this weekend than ever before.

More than 400 vehicles and bikes are expected to converge on the Newcastle Kart Racing Club in Cameron Park on Sunday 17 December.

Adding to the “revved up” atmosphere will be food and drink vendors, free Santa and Grinch photos, music and stalls, plus thousands of dollars worth of raffle and auction prizes to take home.

The best part… it’s all for a good cause.

In 2015, at the young age of 14, Maddie kick-started the event to raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

To date, she’s donated in excess of $71,000.

“It just began as something I organised as part of a Go Kart Race Day when I was still competing,” Maddie said.

“But, I’m proud to have grown this annual event.

“I love seeing both return entries and new contenders.

“I’ve got a big fundraising goal this year and look forward to continuing to support the foundation into the future.”

In 2023, entries can register up to 11am on Sunday.

“All makes and models will be showcased: hot rods, show cars, cruiser classics, motorcycles, muscle and street machines,” Maddie said.

“So, I’m anticipating a great turnout again.

“To enter a car or bike, it’s $10 per vehicle (cash only at the entry gate, EFTPOS available elsewhere).”

Maddie’s passion for wheels runs deep.

She currently manages the Autobarn store at Maitland while lovingly restoring her F250.

On top of that, the 22-year-old continues to support her twin brother in his bid for national go karting glory.
