Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a Hunter motorcyclist after his body was found at Nabiac at the weekend.
Officers attached to Manning-Great Lakes Police District were called to the Pacific Highway about 11am on Saturday 9 November.
It’s understood a passing cyclist noticed the body of a man lying in scrub 3m-4m from the road.
He alerted police who located a damaged motorcycle several metres further on.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted in coming days to establish the cause of death and confirm his identity.
However, initial inquiries suggest the man, aged in his 40s, was from the Hunter region.
It’s also believed the crash may have occurred 24-48 hours before his body was discovered.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au.
Information is treated in strict confidence.
In the meantime, a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
