Lightning does strike twice… for the second time in a week, a Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot windfall has landed in the Hunter.
Just days after a Wangi Wangi woman collected a total of $102,000 from the Monday 17 October draw, The Lott officials have reached out in the region again.
On this occasion, a Beresfield retiree was the recipient of good news.
She captured the guaranteed first prize of $100,000 in the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot, drawn on Thursday 19 October.
“One hundred thousand dollars, oh my god,” the local exclaimed.
“You’ve made my day. You’ve made my whole year,” she told The Lott official.
“I could just give you a million hugs.
“I need to lie down and have a Panadol.
“Thankfully, I wasn’t driving when you called.
“Wait until I tell my children.”
The woman explained the payout was the perfect “pick me up”.
“Thank you so much, I’ve been a bit down lately,” she said.
“I’ll be able to share the prize with my family and do some home renovations with what’s left.
“Maybe in the garage or the kitchen.”
The winning woman’s entry of one random number was purchased at Greenhills Newsagency at Stockland Shopping Centre in East Maitland.
Greenhills Newsagency owner Brendah Kavanagh said she and the team were overjoyed to have sold the ticket.
“It’s always very exciting,” she stated.
“We sold a division one ticket in Saturday Lotto a couple of months ago.
“Maybe that was the start of a winning streak for us.
“All the best to our fortunate winner.
“We hope they enjoy celebrating with their newfound fortune.”
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $8.68 million for draw 1629, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $5.70 million for draw 10804.
