Belmont woman plans long overdue family reunion following $200,000 win

A Belmont woman is planning a long overdue family reunion following her $200,000 Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot win this week.

The Lake Macquarie local held the first prize-winning entry in the draw on Thursday 18 April, not only picking up the major windfall but also a $1,000 consolation reward.

Now, she can’t wait to hug her relatives living overseas.

“It’s unreal! I’m just doing the housework,” she exclaimed when an official from The Lott confirmed her win on Friday morning.

“Thank you so much.

“I’ve been playing for a while. I just feel ‘why not?, everyone has a chance to win. It could be me’.

“I’m thinking about all the things I can do.

“I’d love to pay off the mortgage and I’d also love to see some family members who live overseas that I haven’t seen in five years.

“It would be a long overdue family reunion.

“I think I’ll be doing the rest of my housework today with a big smile.”

The woman’s winning entry of five consecutive numbers was purchased at Belmont City News and Gifts in the Primewest Belmont Citi Centre.

Owner Lisa Sinclair said the win had quickly become the talk of the town.

“I was so excited when I heard that we had sold a division one winning ticket,” she explained.

“I called out to my husband to tell him.

“We are blessed to have the best friends here at Belmont… and we are so excited that one of them is $200 000 richer.

“Everyone is happy to hear about it, and they are sharing their dreams of being the next winner and how life-changing this would be.”

Ms Sinclair said the win was Belmont City News and Gifts’ third “big one” in three years.

“We couldn’t be happier,” she added.

“The last win was a Monday & Wednesday Lotto division one prize, which was collected by the most beautiful local lady who just wanted to give money to her grandchildren.

“We are ready for more division one wins.

“All the customers are talking about our next major event being their win.”
