10.30PM UPDATE: A teenage boy missing from the Hunter has been located safe and well.
The 16-year-old was last seen leaving his home in East Maitland on Tuesday 14 December.
When the teen did not return home, officers from Port Stephens-Hunter Police District were alerted and began an investigation.
Following inquiries and multiple calls from members of the public to Crime Stoppers, about 9.45pm on Wednesday 15 December, the boy was located safe and well at Broadmeadow Railway Station.
Police would like to thank the public and media for their assistance.

Hunter police are appealing for the public’s help to find a teenage boy missing from the Maitland region.
Larz Drew, aged 16, was last seen at his home in East Maitland on Tuesday 14 December after school.
He told his family he was going to Greenhills to buy food but hasn’t been seen since.
When the boy did not return home by 10am on Wednesday 15 December, officers from Port Stephens-Hunter Police District were alerted and began an investigation.
Despite extensive inquiries, Larz has not been located.
Police and his family have concerns for his welfare as he requires daily medication and does not have a mobile phone.
Larz is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 150cm-160cm tall, with a slim build, brown hair (cut in a mullet style), and blue eyes.
At the time he was last seen he was wearing a Francis Greenway High School sports uniform which comprises black shorts and a black and white T-shirt (white trucks with black sleeves and black collar).
Anyone who believes they’ve seen Larz, or who has information about his whereabouts, is urged to contact the Maitland Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
