The Newcastle Jets are continuing to build a nice roster ahead of the A-League Women’s (ALW) 2024/25 season.
With the competition kicking off on the weekend of 1-3 November, the Hunter-based semi-finalists from last season have already locked in inspirational captain Cass Davis, star striker Sarina Bolden, Emma Dundas, Lauren Allan, Melina Ayres, Claudia Cicco and Sophie Hoban.
Now, you can add Natasha Prior to the list for the upcoming campaign.
The central defender recently inked a deal with Newcastle for a further two years.
She made her debut for the club in 2017 and, after re-joining the Jets last season, she’s racked up a total of 38 appearances.
Prior also scored her first goal in the A-League, which came in a 3-1 win against Adelaide United in 2023.
“I’m happy to re-sign with the club for a further two years,” she said.
“I was really pleased with how we performed in 2023/24 and I know that this is just the beginning as we look to build on that success.
“I want to be a part of the future moving forward.
“I know we have a great young squad that will only improve and I’m excited for pre-season to return and get back among it all with my teammates.”
Newcastle coach Ryan Campbell was equally-thrilled.
“Tash was a key member of our run to the semi-finals and a vital part of recruitment for the upcoming season,” he said.
“Her defensive ability combined with her calmness in possession are huge qualities that make her one of the best central defenders in the competition.
“I have high hopes for her development and, with a good year, national team honours are not out of the question.
“Being able to keep Tash for the upcoming seasons is a real sign of intent of what we are looking to do with our squad.”
