All roads lead to Broke Village Fair and Vintage Car Display

A massive crowd is anticipated to converge upon McNamara Park this weekend for the annual Broke Village Fair and Vintage Car Display.

What started off as a couple of local chaps proudly parking their “pride and joy” vintage bus and car at the Broke Store about 38 years ago has now evolved into a huge event on the town’s calendar.

More than 5,000 people make the day trip to the venue to enjoy good old-fashioned friendliness and warmth among the gum trees.

And, the same is expected to eventuate on Sunday 11 September between 9am and 3pm.

Sponsored by Bulga Coal and Singleton Council, the Broke Village Fair and Vintage Car Display boasts an action-packed line-up of activities, demonstrations, market stalls, food and wine to keep the punters entertained.

“The kids will love the rides, magic shows and animals while mum and dad enjoy the festival atmosphere,” a spokesperson said.

“There’ll be over 50 market stalls, music, whip cracking, bush poetry and so much more throughout the day.

“Take your time to explore the vintage, veteran and classic cars, trucks and motorcycles, and check out the lovingly-restored vehicles from Hunter Valley Vintage Farm Machinery.

“We have some master artisans, keen to share their passion and skill with you – from blade smiths, jewellers, chainsaw sculptors and a whip cracking legend to bread and cheese makers, salami producers, chefs and dairy farmers.”

Free tours to the Bulga Open Cut mine will leave at 10am, 11.30am and 1.30pm.
