Police have uncovered an elaborate cannabis grow house in the Hunter Valley, seizing hundreds of plants during a raid at Cessnock.
Hunter Valley Detectives and the Hunter Valley Proactive Crime Team executed a search warrant at the home about 7.30am on Tuesday 21 July.
During a search of the property, officers allegedly discovered a sophisticated hydroponic cannabis cultivation operation.
Police seized 260 mature cannabis plants, with an estimated potential street value of $520,000.
Cannabis seedlings, dried cannabis and hydroponic growing equipment were also seized from the home.
Investigators also found the property had allegedly been illegally connected to the electricity network.
The unsafe connection was disconnected with the assistance of a utility provider.
Specialist police carried out a forensic examination of the scene as part of the investigation.
No arrests have been announced and inquiries by Hunter Valley Police District are continuing.
