The good fortunes of the million-dollar Weekday Windfall have struck again in the region, with a second payout in 10 days.
A Hamilton man celebrated a $1m bounty on Monday 8 September after purchasing his winning System 7 entry at the Beaumont Street Newsagency.
Now, a Singleton woman is also in the money.
And, her quiet morning of baking turned into a recipe for success following a life-changing call from The Lott.
She held the only division one winning entry in draw 4600 on Wednesday 17 September.
When contacted by officials, the local admitted she hadn’t checked her ticket yet… and was left completely stunned by the news.
“Oh my, I don’t know what to say,” she said.
“This feels a bit surreal. It’s wonderful.
“I was just doing some baking [today] and I had to run to the phone, but I just missed your first call.
“I’m glad you called again.”
The sweet surprise could not have been better timed for the Upper Hunter resident, who shared she was in between jobs.
“You have no idea how much this means,” she revealed.
“I know I have a million things I want to do, but my mind has gone blank right now.
“I can’t believe this.
“I’ve played Lotteries since they started… and I always play the same numbers.
“The most I’ve won is around $105.
“I never thought I would get this call.
“Thank you so much.”
Her winning marked 14-game entry was purchased at the Singleton Mall Newsagency.
