10.10AM UPDATE (1 OCTOBER):

A Shoal Bay man has been unknowingly walking around as a newfound millionaire for more than a week after winning $1 million in a recent Weekday Windfall draw.

Initially unaware of his life-enhancing prize, he missed multiple phone calls from The Lott before finally checking his ticket.

“I’m better now, mate,” he laughed when an official spoke with him.

“It’s pretty great news. It’ll most definitely help.

“I had no idea until today. I asked my neighbour for some help checking my ticket, up came the numbers and she just went, ‘I can’t breathe!’.

“She then showed me the win, and I just thought ‘no, something has to be wrong!’.

“I only play a small, four-game ticket, and I’ve been using these same numbers for the past 40 or 50 years now.”

EARLIER:

A Shoal Bay resident or visitor is sitting on a $1 million bounty after winning division one in a recent Weekday Windfall draw.

But, they just might not know it yet.

Although the entry, from draw 4602 on 22 September, is registered to The Lott Members Club, officials were unable to reach the winner on the details provided to deliver the life-changing news.

Shoal Bay Newsagency owner John Boltjes, who sold the ticket, said he hoped the winner came forward soon.

“I initially couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw we had a division one winner,” he explained.

“But, then I had a big smile on my face and couldn’t wait to share the news with everyone.

“We’ve decorated the store and let all our customers know about the win to share in the excitement.

“This is my first division one win since taking over the business in December 2024.

“However, the newsagency itself has had several in its 50 years of operating.

“I’d like to congratulate the winner.

“I trust they can put the money to good use.”

The Lott spokesperson Khat McIntyre said she was eagerly waiting to speak with the mystery division one winner despite repeated attempts to phone them going unanswered.

“Sadly, whenever I called the number provided, it rang out,” she explained.

“You may think it’s not possible you’re the division one winner we’re searching for.

“But, if you purchased an entry into a recent Weekday Windfall draw from Shoal Bay Newsagency that you haven’t checked yet, you’re in with a chance.

“If you discover you’re holding the ticket, contact the Lott on 131 868 to begin the process of claiming your prize.”

The winning numbers in Weekday Windfall draw 4602 were 2, 10, 41, 27, 13 and 3, with the supplementaries being 24 and 5.
